Alenka Klobučar

Transverse Flute

Alenka Klobučar was born in Novo mesto (Slovenia), where she received at the age of nine her first flute lessons. During her studies she earned prizes at competitions in Slovenia and Serbia such as TEMSIG and Competition Petar Konjović. After her Matura at the Conservatory for Music and Ballett Ljubljana she continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she finished her Bachelor and Master studies in the classes of Prof. Eszter Alföldy Boruss, Prof. Dieter Flury und Prof. Mathhieu Gauci-Ancelin. During her modern flute studies, she first came in contact with traverse flute and discovered through lessons with Prof. Sandra Koppensteiner her love for baroque music, which had already been growing since childhood. Alenka is currently finishing her bachelor’s at the Anton Bruckner Private University in the class of Prof. Claire Genewein.

During her studies she attended masterclasses with Claire Genewein, Anne Pustlauk, Johanna Bartz, Eszter Alföldy Boruss, Julien Beaudiment, Emily Beynon, Juliette Hurel, Matej Zupan, Bülent Evcil und Dejan Gavrić.

As a traverse flute player, she regularly plays in various ensembles and orchestral projects in Slovenia and Austria. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Iris Consort and since 2023 of Ensemble Rozeta. Together with both ensembles as prizewinners of the BRISK Ensemble Competition, she played within the concert series of: Alte Musik im Schlosss in Linz’s Schlossmuseum, Alte Musik – Neu gelesen in the Upper Austrian National Library, and Abendmusik in the Ursuline Church Linz.

Since June 2024, she has been helping to digitise the estate of the conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt
