Baroque Cello

Erin Lupardus (*1996) is a cellist, researcher, and English teacher hailing from Oklahoma, USA. She has performed with various ensembles in Carnegie Hall, the Strathmore Music Center, the Oklahoma Civic Center, the Midwest Clinic in Chicago, and the White House. She joined Ensemble Rozeta in early 2024. Alongside artistic projects, she researches in the field of baroque performance practice.

Lupardus earned her Bachelor of Music with a double major in Cello Performance and German, magna cum laude, at DePauw University in Indiana. While there, she worked as the university’s official German tutor, Box Office Manager, and as a freelance musician in a Pops string quartet. Other positions of note while state-side included summers as a Camp Counselor at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan and in the Box Office at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Wyoming. Following a Fulbright US Student grant to research historical performance practice for the 2018–2019 academic year, she completed her Master of Arts in Baroque Cello Performance at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz (ABPU), where her master’s thesis on the influence of Italian cellists in 18th-century England was nominated for the UNIsono Masterpreis. Alongside her studies, she taught English and English writing in Austrian schools and universities and contributed to the digitalization of the conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt’s estate. She has served as University Assistant in the doctoral programme of ABPU since June 2024. She finds fulfilment in helping others discover the joys of research, critical thinking, and the potential of both to enrich our creative processes and outcomes.
