Regina Schwingenschlögl

Transverse Flute

Regina Schwingenschlögl was born in Lower Austria and received her first flute lessons at the age of 9 from Gertrude Rosenfellner and Eugen Bertel.

She studied instrumental flute pedagogy with Furugh Karimi and Robert Wolf at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has worked as a musician and teacher ever since. She has worked as a choir director for over 10 years and performs with flute and chamber music ensembles and orchestras.

Her wide-ranging interest in different instruments and musical styles led her from the folk flute to historical flutes.

This was followed by attending master classes with Marion Treupel-Franck, Barthold Kuijken, Linde Brunmayr-Tutz, Johanna Bartz, among others, and a master’s degree in transverse flute at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz with Claire Genewein.

She is a founding member of the Renaissance flute consort Iris Consort and the baroque ensemble Ensemble Rozeta. Both ensembles were awarded prizes at the BRISK ensemble competition of the Anton Bruckner Private University Linz.

Regina Schwingenschlögl teaches at the Carl Zeller Music School in Lower Austria.
